| Lares trek is a trail located in the Urubamba`s range. Starts in the Pumahuanca valley, which is one of the small valleys in “The Sacred Valley Of The Incas “.
This trail is one of the Inca trail from the Inca empire time and may be before, but this one is still in use by the farmer, Inca’s descendent, connecting the communities of Cuncani, Huacawasi and Lares village with the life in Urubamba or Sacred Valley.
The main characteristics of this hike through the Andes are:
First : each day of the hike we’ll see different villages and we’ll be able to observe how these farmer communities live in harmony with nature even at that altitude .This program is in a cultural frame where we can be a witness of the different farming activities, like potato field work and alpaca and llama breeding. We can also watch how this people handle the natural sources like wool and plants in order to create art textiles pieces and the rustic technique to build huts from simple materials like dirt, rock and straw .
Second: The geography during these days changes often and therefore gives the hiker the possibility to see different geographical floors in one area such as glaciers, forests, lakes, valleys and more. |
